Early Days
“Starting VonChurch was a no-brainer. As both a life-long gamer and a professional recruiter, it was a logical step to combine both passion and professionalism. To build my founding team, I didn’t want to work with just anyone; I wanted to team up with leading lights within the recruiting industry. I started asking, ‘Who’s the best in our business?’ and heard again and again, Corey Myers. I tracked down Corey and made him a partner.
We spoke to our contacts in the game field and heard the same story repeated again. We heard that their clients had no issues finding young raw talent, but had issues finding the talented individuals who could make the good great. This was music to our ears—having worked in niche, relationship-led businesses for many years we realized that this was our challenge.”

Ping Pong
“We chose to start our business in San Francisco. It’s the perfect hub for all the fantastic gaming talent in the area. We found a warehouse in the Dogpatch, used for fashion shoots, converted it to a game-heaven-house-of-business. I wheeled in my ping-pong table and entered the game-recruiting field. On a sunny afternoon in late 2008, VonChurch was born.”

We work tirelessly on representing top-tier talent and have gained the reputation of a company which understands quality and can identify the impossible. We have assembled an outstanding board of directors, led by James McHugh, former head of K2 Partnering.
